11/30/2011

We found a place in town that sells flash frozen Arrecharra (Mexican marinated flank steak) yesterday and bought a kilo...we were thinking about eating it last night but it was still frozen hard as a rock after 90 minutes in Danny's back pack, so we settle on Spaghetti instead...

Danny turns out to be a fan of old movies (some classic, some not so much)...last night we watched Casablanca...Ingrid Bergman is a babe even by today's standards and Humphrey Bogart's demeanor is the same in all roles...it was the first movie we've watched that we both managed to stay awake to watch the conclusion...

The wx was supposed to lighten up a little yesterday and it was calm in the am when we walked into town but had white water in the channel when we walked back to WWV about noon.  It would be a great time to sail to the mainland (east) but going up to the islands (north) is a PITA because of the square waves and short period...as long as it blows like this when we're ready to head south, I'll settle for that...if it's flat calm at that point we'll be getting the double whammy.  I'm listening to Don Anderson's wx prediction on the Amigo net as I write this...blowing hard on the Pacific side (25-35) of Baja with various wind conditions in the Sea of Cortez, depending upon where you are (he's predicting another blustery day in La Paz)...even winds out of the south as you get south!...I've been so spoiled by all my trade winds sailing!
