This
morning WWV was surrounded by millions of little fish, seals and sea birds...I
can only imagine what it was like before humans got here...this is an awesome
place...
Turtle
Bay...what a great place...Danny and Jamie got a panga ride back from the beach
party and called Jose and I from the pier and we went in and met them for
dinner on the beach...Let's just say that Turtle Bay food vendors can't hold a
candle to Jalisco Cafe...just thinking about it makes me go yum yum.
Danny
had a great time at the beach party. He
met a lot of people and spent some time talking with the Grand Poobah. He participated in a great ultimate frisbie
game and came back totally red and puffed out.
Some knucklehead in a big (expensive) catamaran wasn't paying attention
and anchored too close to the beach and ended up in the surf zone. I'm sure there will be a story about that in
next month's Latitude...the boat was still on the beach this evening. Hopefully it can get pulled off when the tide
comes in...big bucks are involved here.
After
dinner we jumped into the dingy for the ride back to WWV. Fortunately I only had one cervesa at dinner
because we spent about an hour looking for the boat...our bearings were totally
screwed up...thank God I thought to turn on the anchor light before we left or
I'd be typing this to you tomorrow morning.
There are stories of past Ha Ha participants in literally spending all
night looking for their boats...and I can now believe it. It's a big bay with about 200 boats at anchor
in a pitch black night...Thankfully, once we got our bearings we were able to
get home to WWV...all's well that ends well (to coin a phrase)...
We
just finished packing up the dingy and getting ready for the 0800 start. Jamie is in the back, snoring like a freight
train, Jose is still in the heavy breathing phase of REM sleep and Danny and I
are writing on our computers...We'll get up early tomorrow and eat some
cereal...next stop is Bahia Santa Maria!
