Last
night the wind built about 15 knots and for a couple of hours we had great
sailing...this morning it's back to about 7 knots and there must be big winds
somewhere offshore because we're wallowing around in very sloppy seas that are
preventing the chute to set and settle...
The
boats that hugged the coast got a big payday with consistent winds in the high
teens...some of them are getting close to Turtle Bay and several should finish
before supper time...we're looking at an "0 dark thirty" finish either
late tonight or early tomorrow AM depending how the winds pan out later today.
On
the roll call several of the boats are describing these elaborate breakfasts
and other meals they are eating...so we announced that we had landed a 40 lb.
tuna (it was actually a 4 oz. squid)...but we got the desired
"ooo...ah..." affect...and the crew of WWV all got a good laugh out
of it. Wait till the give them the
picture!
