10/25/2011 -- Broken Head

Not even 24 hours into our trip and one of our new crew got a little rough with the head and broke a part I can't fix. I've jury rigged the head so that we don't have to poop in a bucket until I can arrange to get parts, but it's only a temp fix

We started sailing last night and are still sailing this morning but the winds are light and we're flying the asymmetrical chute and making about 3-5 knots in the direction of Turtle Bay.

We were near the head of the fleet as of roll call this morning, but since lots of boats are still motoring at 6-7 knots and we're sailing at three, that's probably going to change.  The Grand Poobah announced on this morning roll call that this was the lightest wind ever experienced...great...
