Joe's Injury
Been a while since our last post. Much has happened related to Joe's injury to his knee/leg. Long story short, Joe was unable to put any pressure on the affected leg and we opted for caution and took him to the doctor's clinic. X-rays showed a small fracture at the top of the tibia bone of the knee...it is on the outside of the tibia of the right leg (the one that used to be his good leg). Joe needed an operation to join the broken part of the knee with the good part, requiring two screws to hold the broken part to the good part. Joe opted to have the operation done in La Paz and then fly up to San Diego for recovery. However, upon reaching San Diego and a check up at Balboa Hospital, it was determined that the operation needed to be redone. They gave Joe pictures of the repair, night and day difference from the pictures of the first surgery. They have really supported the knee and the Doc says that his knee will be better than it was before the accident. He think's that without this operation, Joe would not have recovered to the fullest. Joe is still planning to push the recovery as much as he can in order to rejoin WWV. We will provide updates on Joe as available.
